Summit Healthcare Regional Medical Center's PA (Physician Assistant) Services
The convenience of an urgent care with the safety of an ER
In response to the increase in the number of patients who arrive at the Emergency Department, Summit Healthcare Regional Medical Center has added Physician Assistant services within the Emergency Department. If you have a simple illness or minor injury, our nurses will direct you to the PA service area when you arrive to the Emergency Department.
Our PA service has dedicated patient rooms located within the ER staffed by a physician assistant, a nurse and an emergency room technician. Patients are typically treated in the PA services for non-emergent complaints that require medical treatment. It is for those with minor illnesses and injuries, such as sore throats, fevers, sprains, ear infections, upper respiratory problems, and minor cuts and abrasions. In the PA services location, patients receive the care they need in a less hectic setting, and dedicated Emergency Department staff concentrate on providing care to patients who are acutely ill or who have more serious injuries. If tests or your exam determine your illness or injury is more complex, you have the safety and convenience of full backup emergency services within the same department. A highly skilled emergency physician is just steps away and all of the advanced radiology and lab testing equipment are right there where you need them.
The PA service reduces waiting times for both areas of the Emergency Department and we are very excited to offer our community this much needed service.
The PA service operates from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. seven days a week in an effort to meet all community needs.
