Summit Healthcare Pension Plan and Voluntary Retirement Savings Plan
Summit Healthcare provides a flexible contribution retirement plan for all part-time and full-time employees. The plan includes an employer contribution of 4 percent of your annual gross salary. The contribution is made to an account where you have the option to direct your contributions to a guaranteed fixed account or variable investment options similar to mutual funds.
The plan is a 403(b) tax deferred annuity which is similar to a 401(k). As indicated above, the hospital will make a 4 percent contribution at the end of each calendar quarter and employees are able to shelter an additional 20 percent of their salary into the retirement plan through salary reduction. Pool employees are also eligible to participate in the voluntary savings plan.
The voluntary savings plan is set up through a tax deferred annuity which allows you to exclude a portion of your salary from current tax liability and put those "tax" dollars to work for you. Since all contributions, interest and earnings remain untaxed until withdrawn, TSA can grow significantly faster than conventional savings methods.
Now you see how a TSA will reduce your current tax liability, maximize your current income and has the potential to provide more money for you in the years to come. If you are interested in learning more about the Summit Healthcare pension plan, call Human Resources at 537-6366 .
