About the N.E.S.T. Clinic

Summit Healthcare is proud to offer the N.E.S.T. Clinic, a specialized program designed to identify developmental, motor, cognitive, feeding, and communication concerns in infants and young children. Our goal is to provide coordinated, family-centered care to support each child’s growth and developmental milestones.

Why Choose N.E.S.T.

This program is modeled after newborn screening clinics at major hospitals nationwide. Families benefit from local access to multidisciplinary care, avoiding long drives and out-of-network costs while receiving individualized support for their child’s development.

Who We Serve

Early screening is important for any child at risk of developmental challenges. Children who may benefit include those:

  • Babies born prematurely
  • Infants who had a NICU stay longer than 48 hours at any hospital
  • Children with a formal diagnosis of developmental delay or feeding concerns
  • Additional concerns, such as plagiocephaly or torticollis, are also addressed

Our Services

  • Comprehensive Evaluations: Children are screened in developmental, motor, cognitive, feeding, and communication areas by our Occupational, Physical, and Speech Therapists.
  • Age-Appropriate Assessments: Screening is based on adjusted age compared to same-aged peers. Evaluations can begin as early as 3 months of age, with follow-up screenings every 3-6 months as needed.
  • Family-Centered Reports and Recommendations: Parents and caregivers receive a detailed scoring report, and recommendations for interventions or therapy are discussed during the visit.
