We are thrilled to announce that in May 2024, our submission was selected for funding, enabling the purchase of 28 Telehealth carts. These carts have been strategically placed in various locations, including the Summit Healthcare Main Hospital and clinics, the Navajo County Detention Center and Public Health Office, Apache County schools, and the Community Resource Center—ensuring wider access to critical services.
After receiving the carts in early fall 2024, our IT and Telehealth teams have been hard at work assembling, configuring, and integrating the necessary software while providing extensive training for end users. Many carts have already been distributed, and the hospital’s carts went live on February 25. This will allow Summit Healthcare to expand specialty services that would otherwise be unavailable in the White Mountains.
Summit Healthcare, along with Navajo and Apache Counties, remains deeply committed to enhancing local healthcare and education. Over the next two years, we will collaborate with our partners to expand Telehealth and distance learning services, ensuring our communities continue to receive high-quality care and educational opportunities close to home.
A special thank you to Community Broadband Advocates, LLC of Show Low, whose expertise was instrumental in the successful grant application process. Their dedication, supported by Apache County funding, played a crucial role in securing this transformative opportunity for our region.
Stay tuned for more updates as we continue to innovate and expand access to essential services through Telehealth and distance learning!
