What imaging services are available for women?
Below is just a small sample of some of the imaging service we provide at Summit Healthcare for women:
- Ultrasounds
- Mammography
- MRIs
- EKG’s
- X-rays
- DXA scans
- Multi-slice CAT scans
- Echo/vascular
When might these imaging services be required?
Many of the imaging options available at our practice are used to diagnose a wide range of issues that might occur to women, including cervical cancer, uterine fibroids, or breast cancer. Women who visit our practice with unique concerns will first be evaluated by one of our medical professionals to determine the cause of their concerns. In many instances, a doctor might recommend the use of imaging services to get a better idea of what is going on underneath the skin where a physical examination stops. These imaging services are often used to look for masses or elements in the body that might be causing the patient’s symptoms. Many of these are performed in-house at Summit Healthcare.
Are imaging services safe?
Some imaging services have extremely small risks, such as radiation exposure that can occur with x-ray diagnostics. During an evaluation with our professionals, patients can ask about the process of imaging and determine which imaging solution is most appropriate for their unique needs and concerns.
