Cedar Fire pre-evacuation notice

The American Red Cross Northern Arizona Chapter has opened a shelter for residents evacuated due to the Cedar Fire.

Red Cross volunteers are at the Snowflake Junior High School located at 1380 S. Main St., in Snowflake.

Evacuees can expect to have food, water, and a safe place to stay for as long as the shelter remains open, Red Cross officials said.

The evacuation of Forestdale has been ordered.

A pre-evacuation notice is still in effect for the following areas: Show Low, Pinetop-Lakeside and surrounding areas. Please be ready to evacuate on short notice. Make sure to pack any required medications, clothes, pet care needs. Pets will not be allowed at the shelter at the Snowflake High School which is located at 190 South West, Snowflake.
