MDsave and Summit Healthcare Regional Medical Center are working together to help local residents save up to 60 percent on healthcare procedures and get more of the medical care they need.
LAUNCHED IN 2012 as the world’s first online healthcare marketplace, MDsave uses advanced technology to bring together patients without insurance or with high-deductible health plans who are seeking affordable, reliable care and providers offering high-quality services at fair prices.
“In today’s marketplace, healthcare can be confusing and expensive, especially for consumers who are uninsured or who carry high-deductible insurance plans,” says David Rothenberger, CFO, Summit Healthcare. “MDsave can help these patients access the same quality healthcare they have come to expect at our hospital, at a lower cost.”
Patients at Summit Healthcare will have access to a wide variety of medical procedures at prices up to 60 percent off the average market cost, as well as simplified billing and educational resources.
The MDsave marketplace allows patients to search geographically by procedure, provider, specialty, or ailment, and then compare pricing. Procedures offered include magnetic resonance imaging, mammograms, cardiac catheterization, hip arthroscopy and more.
“Our average consumer saves about 40 to 60 percent,” says MDsave cofounder and CEO Paul Ketchel. “People are getting some of the lower-level care they need sooner and not showing up at the emergency room, where things are really expensive.”
