Summit Is ‘Going Red’ for Women

Summit Red For Women3

Summit_Red_For_Women3February is American Heart Month and organizations around the country are educating people in their communities about how to keep their heart healthy.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, heart disease is the leading cause of death in the United States for men and women.

Summit Healthcare Heart, Lung and Vascular Clinic is partnering with local businesses in the White Mountains of Arizona to participate in the Go Red for Women Selfie Campaign.

A campaign designed to help raise money for the clinic the entire month of February, so they can continue to raise awareness about heart disease and the treatment options available.

Go Red for Women is the American Heart Association’s national movement to end heart disease and stroke in women.

The Summit selfie campaign is encouraging people to go into participating businesses to receive a Go Red for Women dress pin and take a selfie to post on social media.

The photo should tag what business the customer is at and then they should also use the hashtag #SummitRedDress

“We’re asking that for every selfie posted on social media with #SummitRedDress that those particular businesses will donate $1 to the Summit Healthcare’s Hear, Lung and Vascular Clinic up to a certain dollar limit,” said Angie Kolling, Chief Marketing & Development officer for Summit Healthcare . “Were hoping this campaign will encourage more women to understand the importance of taking care of their heart and that our clinic has the programs to support their needs.”

For more information on how your business can get involved in the fundraiser, please email Angie Kolling at akolling@summithealthcare.net.
